Overall Attendance

Infant Music Festival

On Friday, the KS1 choir attended the Infant Music Festival at King’s Road URC. Three other schools came to the same session and together, the children sang a number of songs they have been learning over the last few weeks focused on the theme of ‘Animals’!
Each school had to sing their own song focused around the theme and Riverside chose ‘You Wouldn’t Have A Pig As A Pet’. They sang so well that they were asked to sing it a second time! The audience loved their singing and added actions. The children also had to accompany one of the songs with ours being ‘If I Were A Minibeast’.
They put on such a great show and should be very proud of themselves!

Persistent Absences

If your child takes too much time off school they will become categorised as PA or persistently absent.  Missing school will make your child fall behind in lessons and will impact on their academic progress and achievement.

Below is the percentage of children per year group who currently fall into this category.  If you are worried about your child’s school attendance, please do not hesitate to contact the school where we can work with you to improve this.

Netball Match Report

On Monday 25th March, the High Five team played against Grove Wood Primary school. The standard of play was really high and although our team did not take the win, they tried really hard and never gave up until the final whistle was blown. Everyone worked together and we saw some great interceptions and brilliant teamwork. The final score didn’t show how hard they tried and all the girls should be proud of how they played against a very tall, experienced year six team. You all demonstrated great resilience and sportsmanship so well done! The player of the match was Scarlett who read the game very well and made some excellent interceptions. We will keep practicing and next year we will be ready!

We are thrilled to announce that the Year 5/6 Riverside football team has emerged triumphant in the Rayleigh Schools football league! After months of dedication, teamwork, and perseverance, our players have something to show for all of their hard work.

I would like to extend my gratitude to our dedicated coaches, Ashley and Mark and the unwavering support of Miss Black, for their time and commitment to help our boys become champions.
I would also like to thank the parents who come and support us no matter the weather.
I am very proud of the boys, who show up to these matches with such amazing fighting spirit – this title is very well-deserved. – Miss Livermore
